I got my renewal through the other week, they wanted £990 for it. So I thought feck em, Ill go somewhere else but I just did a quote online and it came back with £408 fully comp
Cue Level 1 sh*tty email:
QuoteTo: AA car insurance,
CC: Everyone I know.
I have my car insured with you, it's a 1990 Mazda Eunos Roadster and last year I paid around £450 for fully comp. insurance. I just received the renewal notice through the post and you (the AA) now want £990.83 for the same level of cover. This was fairly annoying, But wait. It gets better.
I just went to your website (www.theaa.com) and I did a quote for the same level of cover – it came back at £408.72. (on a side note that's way more than directline.com).
£408.72 vs £990.82 though?? Where does the £580 extra come into it? Sure, I have aftermarket alloy wheels on the car which the website doesn't take into account but they don't warrant £580 of extra cover, surely? Actually I know full well they don't.
I find it very hard to believe prices have changed that much in the week or so since the letter was sent. I wonder if you'd have said anything about the £408.72 quote if I'd taken up the £990 quote too.
Its scary to think how many people might not have the time to double-check renewals like this. Im glad Im not working away from home at the moment.
Anyway, sorry to moan but I'm very angry with the AA and I absolutely do not want to renew my insurance through you come 18th July. My family has been using AA services – loans, breakdown cover, driving lessons etc for years and years. Obviously, we will not continue to do so in future.

Whats new, they do this all the time. They wont drop or anything and you cant cancel and rejoin :(
Just move.
When that happens I just ring them up and say cant you do it for the new quote I did. Its a pain doing it every time but they always go for the lower price.

That may help save you some more money.
I change every year without fail, ive never had an insurance renewel that was even remotely worth considering.
innit, Ill go with directline or sommink.
I switched from norwich union as I was insulted that they wanted more money for earning an extra year NCB, that and I was starting to hear of bad experiances of them still taking money after cancelling a policy.
They are the same. Bad as each other.
The AA are retarded. I wrote and I phoned to cancel the policy like three times back in July.
Just checked my bank statement -
19th Nov 2007 - AA Insurance - 46.06
Theyve made me angry now.
I insured the MR2, with all mods declared - £770 fully comp
which is fantastic for over here.
Why didnt you just cancel the DD? that allways gets their attention.
LMAO... I always pay up front these days to avoid any hassle when moving time comes - and inevitably it comes every 12 months haha.
Never been with the same insurer for more than 12 months I think.

Thats the case with fitness first.
Require notification of cancellation, then its down to you to cancel the payments, or they will auto-renew your membership.
Im thinking of applying for a Car Insurance Sales job with the AA as they pay better than what Im on and itd be a steady job (Please dont have a heart attack, I did say steady job)
On a side note, Never go with Easy Insurance as they just add loads of things onto the premium
Does "risk header" mean anything to you?
k, The AA done this:
Ignored 3 emails saying I didnt want to take out the new policy at all. They dropped to £450 but I was like no. N. O. I got £350 fully comp.
So they still sent a renewal letter anyway.
I phoned up to bitch. They had me hang on the phone in July til the guy canceled my renewal.
Took "final payment" July 17th.
Then:
August nothing.
September took 46quid.
October took 46 quid.
November took 46 quid.
edit: and I only noticed today :whoops:
