Title: £200 saddle
Post by: maximusotter on January 02, 2007, 15:10:11 PM

The sole reason that thing exists is for parking lot bragging rights. Experienced cyclists will giggle as they mount their Turbos (http://www.bikecult.com/works/saddles/turbobhinault.jpg) and Rolls. (http://www.excelsports.com/image/San%20Marco%20Rolls%20Titanium%20Saddle%20no%20embroidery.jpg)

Ã,£200 for a tour de force in materials science... OK for short course TTs, i bet, but no club rider in the world would touch that, i would hope... imagine doing an all dayer on it?!

Its not even good for TTs as the shape doesnt allow for the proper TT without discomfort. Its supposed to be a general purpose saddle.

A proper Flite ti is 80g more. 80g! Its not like its rotating weight or anything--and this in an age where its so easy to build a super light ride, that are often lower limits set by race organizers, with some bikes even having to get weight taped on.

You can still see people using 300g Rolls in the Tour de France. ;)

Its got nothing on this bike, thats got a 142g saddle AND post. http://weightweenies.starbike.com/articles.php?ID=21
