I'm selling the car so am tarting it up, I went down halfords and paid £30 for an alloy wheel repair kit and it was crap, the filler had dried in the box, grr.

So I got on ebay and found a repair kit for like £7. Awesome buy tbh,

I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

How does the filler work, do you have to polish it down afterwards to match the alloys? Before and after pics? :)

How come you're selling the car?

Pete

The filler is in a little bottle with a brush, it's really thick and gloopy. Brush on, leave to dry, and then sand down with wet & dry, then paint.

It's not perfect, if you look at it from a foot away you can see the difference but it's miles better than grubby scuffs.

I'll get some after pics, I didn't do any before ones but the scruffs were a few mil in depth in some places and there were a lot of them.

Selling cos the sprog is due in 10 weeks.

Ahh, I'm sure it looks much better, you could always get them sandblasted and relacquered or whatever it is they do but that would cost quite a bit more I'm sure.

Congrats will be in order soon then, I hope you have the Jesus at your Christening ;D

I would have got them powdercoated/resprayed if it had been worth it e.g. wheels of value, if just bog standard alloys i would have left the scuffs tbh, patching or touching up looks rather pants usually.

At least its silver and your not touching up the body paint of the car which usually always comes out the wrong shade and stands out.

It's a really close match for £7 tbh, can't afford to get them done properly.

I've got 5 weeks .... its all WAY to real. Same reason I picked up the Lexus.

Hope the Mrs is doing ok, if you havent got her a V shaped pillow yet, it was one of the best thing we've bought, that and bio oil.

1st one? Do you know if it's a b/g?

It's the fidgets that get to me. 3am and it's like I'm lying next to a grizzly bear with a flea.

Got the pillows, got the stuff to rub on her belly - we're panicking now because the carrycot bit for the buggy is out of stock til at least may..

We're selling my mini and keeping hers. At least that's the plan but getting a baby seat in and out is a real trial...
