Whats your thoughts?
I am not sure, have to see more of it. But could big car companies like this start making cheaper cars with the look and feel of their more expensive ones.
I can think of 100 other cars i could spend £20k on, what happens when that thing goes wrong, you will need another £20k to fix it!
Quoteto be built on the base of Toyota's existing iQ city car
Riiiiight. £20k seems a lot for an iQ with a bodykit and a flash interiour.
I hope they pull it off and make an amazing car but it seems like a pretty cheap way of going about it.
They should have done it under a different name. Itll just end up cheapening the brand to be honest.
^^^ exactly
it doesent really matter how many they sell (unless its MILLIONS) itll kill the sales of the more expensive cars.... which they probably make 10times as much profit on anyway !
Shampoo, haircut and blowdry dearie?
Yes, its a hair stylists car to end all hair stylists cars :/
I nearly called it a poofdawagon, but that would be an insult to gay people. I hope that really is the undercoat and not the final colour *shudders*
Come to thin of it this is probably for 19 year old Essex girls with no brains, theyll sell thousands of the things :(
That is a really good point Chris.
New name and it may not sell and be known to be done by the guys that make Aston Martin and not sell well just because it is an unknown?
OR
You brand it as is and as you say cheapen up your name.
Catch 22.
Initially at least, its only going to be offered to people that already have an Aston Martin.
I wouldnt fancy driving a DBS into the centre of London.
I think there is sufficient differentiation of product for them selling a commuter car not to impact their super car sales.
Mercedes sell the A-class and are still respected for their supercars.
If the cars good i dont tihnk it will negatively impact the brand. It can still be super premium product, and a £20k commuter car is a super premium price.
There is also no competition in the field, pugs/citroens/toytas? Closest thing is the mini i guess
Well, its the first aston martin that doesnt look the same as the previous model for 20 years.

The front reminds me of one the robots out of Futurama.....not quite Bender. I cant put my finger on it.
I know what you mean (im dissapointed to admit)
that big gold one ?
or one of the boxes with arms and a flashy light for a mouth ones ?

Aston, if anything should have gone for something a little different, a hybrid saloon perfect for the competition of the X type.
I think itll be terrible car and bought by lots of women/hair stylists and people that want to say they have a new aston martin.
Mark is right though, it does look different from all the others.
