For some reason I had this vision of someone having driven a Veyron into a lake in some mad accident....

My siss partner, when I told him about the veyron, and showed him a vid on youtube, proclaimed that it must be a viral as the camera was too good a quality and who would be filming it, itd be a fake veyron or something. Even though theres newspapers and police reports on the web!

But it isnt, is it ><

too good a quality camera? can pick up a  HD camcorder for a couple of hundred £ and all it takes is a holiday maker at the right place at the right time

that and its a famous ish car so people might have been going for the camera long before it started to crash.

all the footage iv seen has been pretty poor tbh

Tis exactly what I said but hed have none of it. Too much of a coincidence. Its not the first thing Ive said about which hes pretty much immediately decided to say is "wrong". 9/10 I end up proving otherwise as I hate to be told Im wrong when Im fairly sure Im not!

I get all that...

its just a bit of a coincidence is all.... and coincidences on the internet tend to be fake/lies/cheats/scams in my expereince...

Id agree, but Id imagine that when cars like the veyron are out and about, they tend to get photgraphed and filmed quite a lot. I mean, Im not a car boff and couldnt tell you what brand supercar is coming up until I see the badge, and even then I couldnt tell you the model unless its stuck on the back, but thanks to Top Gear I could probably tell you if I saw a Veyron. if I had a passenger in the car that wasnt female Id probably mention it, and thered be a good chance the passenger might think its cool...

The Veyron incident was real. How many times have you been out driving/walking etc and seen something you wanted to take a picture of, i know if i saw a Veyron round here i would want to show my mates what i saw.

As for the HD video point, you can buy a Flip Mino HD for like £130 that films in HD upto 2 hours worth of movie, so chances are as they are quite popular devices, stuff like this will be caught on cam.

Also, if you followed the whole story, the bloke who owns the Veyron also owns the largest scrap repair merchant /dealer in the US, and has been out and bought another since, which he said is what he would do in an interview about the incident.
