Im over 25, i have 9 years ncb , want something around £400/year fully comp if it helps.

Looked at all sorts, must be able to fit a 6 8" lad, so no MX5s they fit like shoes.

Something sporty, i had that A4 Turbo that was a dream to drive, but headroom was a pain, even on seat right back and down.

So let me know what you think?

ill go back to my old faithful : SEAT TOledo V5.  I couldnt find a decent one when I was looking a couple of months back

you could get a 2.5v6 160 or 190 for that money too but MPG isnt great.

Boras are good cars, look pretty decent with some alloys too but pretty boring.

3 series is a good one but you might struggle for a nice newish example for 4.5k.

i wouldnt bother with the ZR bit boy racery,

ZS is great, ride is very hard/sporty tho ( I love mine, great car)

I would try and push for a ZT its in a different league to all the above in terms of comfort, looks, ride, power, value etc.

dont fancy another A4?

Id go with a Honda Civic from that list.
