Zermatt Silver or Java Black what do you reckon?
Vote Now!!!
In case you were wondering 3.0 TD6 HSE
silver definatly.
black looks good, for 10mins after youve washed it.
Liking the silver right now :)
Silver, black gets hot in the sun.
Black is my preference.
Black every single day on a car that size.
would there be any difference between the 2 when it came to sell them on do you think?

Only if the buyer was undecided about the colour.
Personally I love black cars and 4x4s are meant to be mucky anyway!
dont like those things at all, SUVs should all be banned from the road. But if I was forced to, Id go for black.
TBH Id forget about one of those and get a Phaeton.
The diesel Rangies are ABSURDLY slow. Any that Ive driven anyway - the jap ones are all far quicker
Black is more pimp, silver is more defined.
Dont like the car at all! But as a colour I would prefer Black :)
silver, even when dirty it looks clean
Black.
Then drive it through a muddy field.
Then never wash it again.
silver, black will make you look like a Drug Dealer.
a VW Phaeton, no thanks, been put off VWs for life
I need a tow car so the rangie fits the bill
Get something with proper torque then, not that girly POS diesel in those things - unless its the new V8 diesel they have less torque than a modern 1.9TDi
The land cruiser amazon is a gutsy yoke, and better off road, and bigger.
What are you going to be towing?
Quote from: Beakersilver, black will make you look like a Drug Dealer.
He isnt?
As for needing a car for towing, you would need something a hell of a size to require one of those, unless you need to go cross country get a RWD estate instead.
towing another car on a braked trailer
the 3.0 TD6 produces 390Nm the 4.6 V8 i had before produced 380Nm.. so whats the problem?
287 lb/ft through 4x4 wouldnt pull the skin off a sh*t.
A remapped fabia Vrs makes more than that!
like i said the TD6 produces more torque than the old V8 i had and that had more than enough to do what i needed
Mines got the following
Engine size = 2.8 Turbo intercooled diesel
Model = 4M40 OHC 4 Cylinder
Fuel system — Distributor type injection pump
Compression ratio — 21:1
Power — 92 kW (125 BHP) at 4000 rpm
Torque — 294 N·m (217 ft·lbf) at 2000 rpm
All i can tell you about the rangie is:
Turbo direct injection
Engine Size 2926 cc
Cylinders 6
0-60 mph 12.7 s
Power Output 174 bhp
Valves 24
Torque 390 Nm 288 lb-ft
Top Speed 111 mph
oh and:
Weight 2545 kg
Get a landcruiser amazon, not a wag mobile
pah no, it offers a touch more power.. from a bigger engine.. so no surprises!
I dont like the look, or the mechanical stuff, prefer a button and a light to a lever on the console.
The interior looks cheap and dated IMO, so no, its the modern luxury from the range rover for me.
I dont know what landcruiser youve been looking at, but they certainly arent dated - they look better inside with the full options pack than any land rover. The late eighties and early nineties ones do look a bit 80s though.
What mechanical stuff? Theyre far, far more advanced than the land rovers, plus they can go off road not just up a muddy path.
At the end of the day though beauty is in the eye of the footballers wife....
can you link to the one your thinking of?
How much are you spending out of interest?
mk3 range rovers can be had for as little as £15.5k im looking at spending £16-17k
Im with Mark, definatly into Amazon money there.
maybe, also into a lot of other territory if you dont worry about the towing thing, mercs bmws audis.
Thing is you gotta like what your buying, i liked my old range rover and i cant see anything wrong with the new one.
As a family, weve owned many of Solihuls finest. My dads finally sacked off L/R R/R and now gone Jap and not looked back.
Hes got a Hilux and its so much better at towing and offroad. Thats the 3.0L D4D engine.
better seems relative from here, the 4.6 towed what i wanted when i wanted and it felt effortless.. the new one has even more torque, i cant really ask for much more.
off road isnt really an issue since im not likely to risk mashing a £15k+ car into the ground
Bit different, but we lug cement, mini diggers, all sorts of construction equipment and a large caravan, and seems to still get an average of 30mpg.
At the end of the day, you pays your money, takes your choice.
But remember, a lot of Defender/Disco parts fit the Rangies but at a much lower cost.
Top Gear shoved a Toyota Hilux pickup on top of a block of flats, then demolished them, it still managed to start up and drive. Although I would put a roof on the back to make it more secure.

Unimog U5000 ftw tbh
dont spend so much money on a big stupid thing like that, theyll probably be banned soon anyway.
you could get a proper car for that sort of money.
what about a 04/05 530d SE ~ £15k, thatll tow anything and you can have some fun when your not towing.
Engine Size 2993 cc
Cylinders 6
0-60 mph 6.9 s
Power Output 214 bhp
Valves 24
Torque 500 Nm 368 lb-ft
Top Speed 152 mph
Economy - 40mpg
because a heavy 4x4 handles a lot of weight on the back better than your standard motor
banned my arse theyd never get away with it tbfh
fair enough, what do you tow? must be something big?
that bmw will take 2tonnes easy.

Looks damn ugly TBVH. :puke:
How long before that thing goes wrong?
Ill give it 3 months tops with that crazy-ass custom (read flaky) sh*t going on at the rear.

Or not.
Its not custom, crazy or flaky, its common and just increasing the articulation the vehical already has. Maybe if you did it to a Micra it would fail but not this.
