I was wondering if anyone here knows of good classified websites for cars. Ive already checked on ones like pistonheads, autotrader and ebay, but was wondering if people know of other websites that have a decent selection of car ads on them.
I know car forums usually have some of the better cars out there because theyre usually owned by someone who knows their stuff and likes that particular car, but their choice is limited by the manufacturer/model.

Car forums for a start, if you like VAG you can try Club GTI, Edition 38, Volkzone, UK-MKIVs, UKPassats etc
Pistonheads, Ebay, i also use Gumtree, sold about 3 cars on Gumtree recently

the problem with owners clubs forums is that the people selling the cars usually have far too much money on them - especially long standing members - they seem to think this entitles them to ask 10-20% more than market rate.

You steer clear of them or give them a dose of reality, dont be afraid to knock them down a couple of levels if they are taking the piss, just leave your number with them and ask them to call you if they want to get rid of it sooner rather than later.

Ive seen what amount to lowered golf TDis with different wheels being offered for sale at 50% over value before. Then they end up on gumtree etc at a sensible price 4 months later
I hate dealing with Owners Club morons. When I flogged my GTE a few years back I had a couple of them turn up, kick the tyres and offer me silly prices. It was a minter, and they thought because I wasnt in the owners club it had to be a dodgy in some way. They claimed it had been crashed, and that was why the interior had been changed, and that there was emulsion in the oil cap. Neither were true as I knew the guy Id bought it off, and hed had it since new!

People think that if its a VW with BBS wheels, 100k miles, rust, stickers and a roofrack its worth megamonies.

Its not just VWs you know, why not look at some of the Jap stuff, and also the way drifting has pushed prices up on some cars massively, more so than the vws. Need i mention AE86!
I thought youd pipe up in defense of VADGE. :heehaw:
AE86 is a prime example, and it seems now if you want to modify one, it HAS to be two tone black and white.
Its not just the AE86, but most lightish weight RWDs.
