Whats the most expensive near you?
One near work (Two of them in fact) are Ã,£1.80 per hour - and there is no other secure car parking near work - there is an estate nearby where cars are constantly getting broken into and thats it - a cheaper one closed as te people who owned the expensive one bought it over!
People are paying upwards of Ã,£18 a day just to be able to drive to work - ridiculous.
You could understand if it was in an area with high rates and a lot of shops etc - but its on the outskirts of belfast!
I cant remember what the rate is by day because I rarely use my councils car parks, I walk the 2 miles into town. Though I do know it is 50p after 6pm.
Coventry Counil recently changed all their car parks from Pay & Display to pay on foot which I have allways thought is a much better system.
The cost of which is Ã,£2 for one hour, Ã,£2.50 for two and goes up to a maximum of Ã,£4. Again 50p after 6pm and is open 24 hours.
This is the same for both secure/multistory and open car parks.
in chester it is 45p per 15mins
Ã,£1.50 per hour is the worst one Ive had in nuneaton.
The train station is the most expensive but i dont know exactly how much it is. (I dont think you can realy count that though)
I dont drive a car anymore as the local busses/metro are now free for me
Think I have seen Ã,£1.80/hour though recently. TBH its a big rip off.

Agreed, tbh I dont use carparks, i just park near town on a road, Im not paying road tax for nothing.
There all free by me i think apart from the multistorey in town.
havent a clue what that charges.
Went to Holborn a while back and had to pay Ã,£5 per 20mins :(
In Chicago, downtown parking is easily $75 on weekdays. If you so much as park a cm over a line, youll be towed and charged $150. Nuts.
The problem is that because they are now often run by private companies who have installed new fancy ticket machines & have employed security people, other staff, fancy barrier systems etc... the costs have gone up loads. Supermarkets are always useful - as long as you buy something from the store you can park for free.
NCPs in Brum City Centre are 70p for 20 mins.
