Whatever. Im not trendy, just a progressive dude, raised in the hood that knows that plenty of folks die each year without having the money to go out in some sort of blazing lookit me glory. Five thousand kids will die in Africa today because of hunger. And Im to appreciate some yuppie c**t that has enough money to focus attention on herself? What-ever. A small percentage of brits are some of the most disgusting class concious sons-of-bitches in the world, and this woman is an example.

Understand this: I can appreciate stories of personal valor, of which this is not, I am a die hard cynic, and I believe fiercely in the equality and dignity of man.

Shes dying, shes raised hundreds of thousands of pounds which will potentially go to help some of the people your heart bleeds so much for - whats not to like?

How you can possibly paint her out to be greedy and uncharitable is completely beyond me Max.  Shes doing it to raise money for others, not to get publicity.

Obviously maxi you missed the ball on this one, five thousand kids might die in africa but what did you do to prevent it? Absolutely nothing!

At least shes trying to do something with whats left of her life, using the few years or months left to her in order to help other sufferers as much as possible.

She was a radiographer, her husband not even middle management at a bank... so they were hardly minted.

She developed cancer and instead of packing it all in and having the last years of her life to herself and her family she did something to make a small difference.

Shes on her last legs, literally, her husband has grafted his arse off to get the whole charity ride off the ground... I stood there in a bike shop while she organised the trip with the staff; to think she rode across the states in the shape she was in when i saw her is incredible, she was doubled up with back pain and looked half dead - well she is terminally ill after all...

Anyway, ill leave you to it Max, youve obviously got the trendy lefty war to wage with everyman and his dog....

but she said she would do it and has... like you say, alot of people have done this, but not with terminal cancer and with lesions in their backs... I sh*t you not, she looks like she walks with a hunch all the time, when i was stood next to her she was almost bowed at one point... and to think she sat on a bike for 50+ miles a day...

The United States is losing the war in Iraq; more specifically, Philadelphia is. This war is at home, in the citys 12th Police District, where shootings have almost doubled over the past year and residents have spray-painted "IRAQ" in huge letters on abandoned buildings to mark the devastation.

It is a story being repeated up and down the East Coast and across the nation. In Boston, where the homicide rate is soaring, Analicia Perry, a 20-year-old mother, was shot and killed while visiting the street shrine marking the site of her brothers death on the same date four years earlier.

Orlandos homicide count for this year has surpassed the citys previous annual high of 36 in 1982. And in Washington, D.C., where 14 people were killed in the first 12 days of July, Police Chief Charles Ramsey declared a state of emergency.
