Title: do any of the mountain bikers on here wear eye protection?
Post by: Badabing on October 14, 2006, 13:56:28 PM
i was on a 12miler yesterday, fast singletrack and there was alot of mud and grit on the trails, you could hear the stones pinging against the frame as i rode (doing between 16 and 25MPH). All of a sudden, a stone flicked up and hit me in the eye - i had my oakleys on, but it really did knock my head back how hard it flew up and its left the lense slightly scratched...

i wouldnt like to think how much it would have hurt if it had hit me directly in the eye...

kids, always wear protection when off roading...  :!:

I usually wear M frames with a rose tint :P  to keep the wind and the flies out, but not specifically stones.
