Title: Driving Lights
Post by: soopahfly on October 14, 2007, 00:44:47 AM
Ive got some Wipac S6007 Auxiliay driving lights for the cheeky, they come with a 55w H3 bulb.  Is there anything stopping me putting a 120w bulb in there?

Also, I cant figure out why they only have 1 wire coming out of each light.
Will be wired up to a relay and only to the high beam.

you can give it a go with the 120w light... they might get a bit hot but just try and see ;)

and they are probably earthed through the case / being bolted to the car ?   (if bolted to plastic etc.. then you will have to run an -ve lead to the case)

Yup - the second wire is the metal bolt into the car

You will burn out the switch contacts pretty quickly. Get a relay to switch them on and off

They will be relayed, but the switch feed will be the main beam toggle.

I dont want them running independantly, just off the main beam.
Tempted to relay my main lights too, just to be sure they get a pure 14v.  You know what these italian electrics are like!

Same deal in the Astra.  Its like having tealights in there instead of bulbs.
And where my folks live its a lot of country lanes.
