"He should have been whipped off at half-time for an early bath. And the bath should have been filled with boiling water."
lets see what they think tomorrow...
the aussies played well today.
They are a phenomenally mentally tough, disciplined, proud nation when it comes to sport. It shows how far they have come over the last decade or so - beating England away, qualifying for the WC, then battering Japan.
I think theyll get through to the second round and if they ever met England, on current form and based on mental grit and determination there could be an upset on the cards.
They really troubled Brazil. You can see Brazil being brought down a peg or two against a really good team. A shame ITV had Warne in as a special guest, cue lots of crappy cricket puns.

Jon Champion really pissed me off, today on ITV... Constantly fawning over a piss poor brazil side and patronising the socceroos, dickhead.
Brazil didnt have the magic today, but it seems they always take time to warm up. The Aussies played with unusual finesse considering their formidable opponent. They should be proud.
The France:Korea game was much more fun to watch. The Korean fans are great what with their banging pots and dressing up like fringe gods and the like.

Australia are no slouches - fearless in fact, they dont care who they play, they go out to win, ALWAYS... They showed that when they beat England at home, they will win or get close to winning the world cup in the next 10 years..
Oh yeah, theyre most def up and coming. Only thing that bugged me about the match was a bit too much roughness from the Aussies. Its a mans sport I know, but dang, them cleats hurt. :ouch:
They were up an coming. They will lose one of the top 5 coaches in the world after the World Cup. He got South Korea to the Semi Finals last time, so it will be interesting to see how far they get this time since the plays are arguably better than SK.

with the coaching networks and the sporting infrastructure the aussies have, theyll churn out a world class coach, soon enough.
the aussies played ok, but still got comfortably beaten by a poor brazil performance.
They are far to physical for the top level aswell it was like watching a sunday league game. Grella should have been sent off for that tackle on Ronaldo too.

Think that Grella was trying to take him out or was simply being an Aussie roughneck?
Yup, there seems to be very inconsistent reffing during this cup. Which brings up...can football refs review a video replay these days? They allow this with American football, and it keeps outrageous calls at bay. On the flipside, it slows down the game.

Too physical? pah, look back at the 60s, George Best was routinely butchered by the likes of "Chopper" Harris, its part of the game, its just the new generation of pros are soft...
