Title: England Vs. New Zealand
Post by: Tongy on October 31, 2006, 16:20:07 PM
Current world champions versus the number 1 team in the world.

Personally I see 28-12 defeat for England, if not worse.

Good luck though lads!

Cheers

I think they will loose as they are just getting back on their feet but there again is good young talent just beginning to show themselves and would be on form come world cup time.
England have the right captain again now and holpfuly while loosing they at least put on a good performance this time and show that they are there and coming back.

Facts and figures...if you believe that it has any bearing.

New Zealand have only lost one of their previous 17 matches and that loss was by one point.

England have lost their last 5 games and if they lose again today, it will equal the worst string of results since the early seventies.

For more, go here: http://www.planetrugby.com/Teams/England/story_54878.shtml

We have some very inexperienced players on the team and with the NZ team having so much seasoned international talent that it is hard to see anything but a substantial defeat for England. Dont get me wrong, I wish England the best of luck and hope that the preparations that they have undertaken to get ready for this match are enough.

I sit here, writing this in my England shirt and want them to win, but no matter how much you want a team to win, there are harsh realities to face.

Good luck England!

England are light years behind the southern hemisphere.

Technically inept - look at how the Kiwis handled the ball and how good their ball at feet was.

Look at how England seem to be surrounded by 30 black shirts when they went forward, while New Zealand seemed to be playing against 5 opposition players - they can move the ball around and make space for fun.

This isnt a criticism of England, but an example of how good NZ are - we need to look at how the game is coached and run from the under 10s right through to the top level, we just do not compare on skill levels and technique.

I think you do not realise how little that team of players has played, bar a couple of people the NZ team has played 24 games as  group.
England has so many Injuries to coeshen is not there at all.

That sad past few games before this they have played in the wrong direction and with the wrong style which is a coaching error.

Bar lots of errors today which made the score worse then it was, there were very good signs there tbh.
The style of play and they way they were playing tactically was a LOT LOT better then it has been and the right way to play. More play time, less injuries and less errors and England could be up there.

i am aware of that many of the lads who played today are new caps etc. but, for the last 3 years its been like this, its sh*te coaching and sh*te technical ability, there are only so many excuses you can come up with before you start to think its more than bad luck.

Steady on, Jamie Noons disallowed try, in  my opinion, was a try. However the team did alright is no cause for major concern for the orld cup.

I think that Anthony Allen player OK for a guy in is position, he made a foolish pass that was intercepted, but did alright for his first time out.

Our kicking was woeful, our support play could have been better, but the referees decisions were final and should be respected however wrong or unjust they might have been.

Well done NZ for a decent victory and England should take heart that the mighty All Blacks are not the well oiled machine that they are made out to be. Good luck to the French as they might offer a tougher test.

Good luck to NZ and a nod the English.
