Title: Fiesta aux in?
Post by: Goblin on February 18, 2007, 10:24:54 AM
Picked up my new work car, 2006 Fiesta with a ford 6000 radio. Can anyone tell me if the aux in port actually exists to go with the button because Im buggered if I can find one.

According to Top Gear all Fiesta from 2006 on are iPod compatible as standard.

Me dumb, or just misled?

Its compatible if you spend Ã,£200 on the lead.

They are brining it in as standard now, but if yours wasnt built to order recently it probably wont have it. They fit the socket for the ipod around the cig lighter. So doubt youve got it as youd have noticed it.

The lead is only about Ã,£8 from Ford, so worth getting IMO. Its not too hard to fit either.

Edit:
Here is the  Ford Finis Code: 1426121

Ã,£6.92 + vat

Could I fit it and them remove it in a few months without anyone noticing when they change my car? Does it just connect into pins on the back? Is there a sensible place I could route it out without having to alter the fascia?

Yeah, it does just plug in to the back.

Most people drill a small hole around the cig lighter when fitting theirs....as its handy then. But obviously as its not your car as such, you wont want to be drilling it. You can just run the cable to the glove box to be honest, and keep the mp3 player in there.........although it isnt as handy to change tracks then. Or, fit it as ford would and when you give the car back, they probably wont know any difference.
