QuoteLandis, who is 30, slid the booklet, an annual report from a joint-replacement manufacturer, across the table toward Brent Kay, his doctor. Together they gazed at the silvery ball-and-cup assembly identified as the Durom hip system.
??Nice, huh??? Landis said, and it was hard to argue. In the oversize photograph, the Durom was a glistening, precision-milled orb. It resembled a Henry Moore sculpture or perhaps an expensive set of drawer pulls.
??Sure, it might look good,?? Kay said, drolly setting himself up for the inevitable bike-shop bon mot. ??But do they make it in titanium???
The lunatic has been riding on a dead hip for a couple years now, its something like 50% disintigrated. :!: He cant walk straight, climb stairs, or mount his bike with his left leg first...but hes a contender in the Tour. Big Brass Balls.
I can ride my bike OK too but try to run and its collapse in seconds. Even trying to rush for a bus is too much.
He must have balls of titanium though
Floyd has got the yellow jersey!!!!!!

is that like escapee inmates have to wear a yellow stripe?
OMG, I was pretty crestfallen when he bonked in the Alps yesterday, losing nearly ten minutes...but then today, he wins the stage spectacularly and is within 30 seconds of the leader!!! This may turn out to be the most exciting Tour in the last decade!

pah - they all take drugs anyway tbh.... - has become a silly sport

You dont know what the hell youre talking about. Twenty of the top riders were pulled from this years Tour just because they were
suspected of drug use. Landiss success comes from pure talent and grit, he doesnt even take pain meds for his arthritic hip.
He comes from a hard working Mennonite family, and used to sneak out on weekends to win national mtb races. Hes got big brass testicles if anybody ever received a set.
Bout the most medical thing thatll happen to the riders is IV rehydration, but after 130 miles in the mountains, theres no way to do it practically through oral means.
There are some other great riders this year that are getting more attention than they usually would, which I find fantasic. The Dane, Rasmussen, is a very inspirational climber. He must be 50% goat or something.
maybe Landis is the exception then - either way drug use is massive in the cycling world.
armstrong was pretty dodggy in that respect IMO

Quite the dogmatic statement w/o a drop of evidence. Cycling is the most rigidly piss tested sport in the world, mainly because long tours and the recovery between stages make it tempting to cheat.
The sport with the worst drug problem would be baseball with its massive abuse of steroids.
cycling is notorious for drugs
anyone who denies that is just sticking thier head in the sand
methinks you are a bit too much of a cycling fanboy max
Quote from: Davecycling is notorious for drugs
Which is precisely why Armstrong has been tested time and time again for a decade and not been found guilty. Your opinions are dodgier than the case against him.

Prove that any of todays top finishers are getting an edge from illegal performance enhancers, or bugger off.
Typical "Dave" dogmatism without a shred of evidence. Pathetic.

yeah Ill just fly over & demand drugs tests from all of them every night
drugs tests arent 100% effective at catching people - drugs cheats are showing up all the time & reports of drug taking are rampant in the cycling world
I realise youre a fan boy & dont want to believe it - that is understandable - but form the POV of an observer it is dodgy as f**k

If I were Dave, Id be feeling fairly smug just now.
*edit - just occurs to me that no-one will know what I mean here, so :
Quote from: BBCDisgraced Tour de France winner Floyd Landis has admitted using performance-enhancing drugs throughout the majority of his career as a professional rider

Just more proof that road cyclists cant be trusted.
You dont get this in Mountain Biking.
Or if they do, they do it properly :D
