What would you buy and why.
Im thinking something reasonably sensible to replace both the Delica and the Cinq.
Up to 5 years old.
100% not interested in anything with the BMW logo, unless its a Brooklyn Machine Works.
Been looking at A3s but you get a dog for this much.
Currently autotrader lists plenty of Fociis and Astras.
If I had 2-3k....

maybe a little bit too sensible?
No thanks to rover, mx5 or FTO.
Id go Merc C class these days for that money, old shape but still a nice motor, or if you can afford to run it a P38 range rover 4.6 HSE
I could afford to run one, as I run a more thirsty mitsubishi atm. Just dont want one. No point in swapping a proper 4x4 for a fakie.

nothing fake about em, plenty capable just never really used properly
Skoda Octavia diesel, plenty of space good build quality. Or Skoda Fabia if you wanted a smaller car.

Damned right! Tho I would prefer my brothers Mk2 Chasis, with a 1.8T or VR6 in :)

Tis a nice car and you can get them for £3000 easilly, I saw one for £2k the other week on the way to work.
Looked good.
yeah they are good cars, i tested a couple of 150bhp 2.2dci dynamique and they are very nice.

Id still say go Japanese for reliability at that price range. As you say its too little to go German and not expect a bit of a dog.
Actually seen a few nice Leon Cupras in my price range, but still looking tbh.
I thought you needed the 4x4 for work ?
Changed job, starting work at Plusnet end of this month.
Still going to do my other work but can probably just about walk round the site, or borrow my dads hilux.
this is a ridiculous bargain in a wolf in sheeps clothing still fairly sensible way.

Nice, but far too old.
Might be able to grab a tidy audi s2 for just over 3k.
edit oh or maybe a cheeky corrado, these are just off the top of my head :heehaw:
2K-3K...
I would get something like a Triumph Tiger, KTM Adventure or one of the old BMW Funduro Dakars.
Would do me for awhile methinks ;)
