Title: Ignition Light Mod
Post by: DEViANCE on October 22, 2006, 20:43:18 PM
I was bored so decided to give my ignition a halo today as it is a feature i miss from my old rover 200, god knows why they deleted it from later models.
i used the same colour leds that they use for the dash illumination.
some bad pics:

basically just a light around the ignition barrel so you can find it in the dark.

Probably the interior lighting circuit...... you can add a couple of bulbs without putting too much of a strain on it

Or the side light circuit i suppose?

So hang on, you have to have your door open for it to light up?

you have to open your door to get in so it lights up then, you can also almost always switch on the courtesy light by operating a switch. Any other option would either require it to be on all the time or for you to find a switch and activate it anyway.

on my car the interior light doesnt turn off until you start the engine, or it does after a certain amount of time

So its YOUR fault my interior light doesnt work properly!

I can only turn the light on by opening one of the front doors, which is not very helpful when my passenger wants to read the map while doing 70 down a motorway!
