Dont you just need 700c innertubes in the appropriate width? Thats all 29er wheels are anyway isnt it, just 700c rims with chunky tyres?

I thought exactly the same thing, but then i see that there are specific MTB 29" tubes, which confused me... Im running 2.1 tyres.
QuoteThe 29er is a mountain bike that has a larger rim than your traditional mountain bike does. A traditional mountain bike has a 26? (approximately) diameter wheel. A 29er has a 29" (approximately) diameter wheel. A 29er uses the same size rims as a common road bike, usually referred to as 700c.
From twentyniner.net. Id guess either would work. Could always whip out a tape measure and see which looks closest?
Its a toob, they stretch, get something with the proper valve thats close and stop worrying. Heck, Ive got a 27"x1 1/4" tube in the Brodies rear 700x37 tire. Pump pump...fits fine.Tis rubber after all.
Some 700x38 or 42mm ones meant for touring bikes should stretch to fit just fine.
for anyone remotely interested, FisherOutdoor is the place to look - they stock the Schwalbe tubes, which is nice - just ordered a job lot.
Ive got MX tubes on my bike now.

anyhoo, i went to the bike shop in town and got a speccy 700c tube and it seems to be ok - should be reet for getting me home and the beading on the 2.1 WTBs is much, much easier to deal with than those bloody welded on Armadilos... 8)
