My friend gave me a lift in his new hire car he got through work it was a nice new Vauxhall Insignia, diesel model and it was very nice indeed!
Nice inside, comfy, felt spacious and yet cosy.
i was hoping the hire company would give me one after some retard pulled out of a parking bay into my earlier in the week.
Unfortunately, I got another vectra :gag:
Must admit I was half and half on them and then I had a test drive in one and they are decent cars. Although it was a mistake to release one with a 1.6 engine, the thing struggles. The 1.9cdti is a lot better :) Will be interesting to see if they replace the vectra vxr with an insignia model.

having driven one of these they are actually a really nice car. Nice looking too. massive improvement over the Veccy.
That wouldnt be hard lol. Ive got one coming next month to replace the Mondeo (though Id rather have another Mondeo).

To be honest as a motorway cruiser the Vectra C is actually quite hard to beat. Doesnt require any great concentration, doesnt do anything unexpected. Its just a big-ish comfortable care. Ive got a late model Vectra-B on a W-Reg, and as a motorway car its actually hard to beat. Just trots along without a care in the world. It never won many fans, but its been the nicest car to own Ive yet had. That includes the Hondas.

Thats without heading into the "Sports" type stuff. If you want a high-quality car then get an Audi/Merc/Volvo/Mitsubishi or similar. The other week one of the lads was having the piss taken out of him for the Insignia, by a guy with a fecking SAAB 9-5. How to really rip into someone for having 20 year old chassis that Vauxhall last used on the Cav.
Also for reliability Ive not hod owt better. Ive had VW, Honda, Renault, SEAT, Rover and Ford. The Vauxhalls and Deawoo have been the only ones that consistently didnt give me any trouble.
i think brand snobbery in this day and age is a bit pointless. I mean I could understand someone going "ugh vauxhall" if they were driving £50k+ cars, but for joe bloggs theyre excellent cars. I myself wouldnt say no to a reasonably new vaux, only astra sized and above tho, Ive had my fill of small cars that are uncomfy

who cares about the chassis, the Saab 9-5 is lovely to drive. Bags of room inside & lovely wide seats.
Id take a 9-5 before a vectra, focus titanium, Merc clk 220 & a volvo s40 & any other car the leasing company have provided me to drive in the last 5 years.

Dont worry, they include a Bench branded ManBag in Khaki, thick-rimmed Glasses and iPhone pouch when you get a SAAB Vectra these days :)
Last time I was in a Saab, I was spotting all the shared bits with my Astra.
