Anyone use any of the above?
Im looking to switch insurers for my Golf - Zurich have been good to me, but they came back with a new premium of 1300 for the year. When I complained they said 1000, but this is still too high.
Admiral are quoting me 650 with 100 pounds excess and all the options ticked, just want to get an idea how they are service wise. How do the likes of Elephant/Esure compare if youve used them as theyre a similar price.
Cheers
Elephant have been fine in my experience, but then I havent claimed and you dont know til then I suppose.
Why not just hit confused.com et al instead of going to individual brokers one by one?
I did ;)
Money Supermarket & Confused.
Those 3 were just the cheapest, didnt see the point in listing the rest. Was just wondering if anyone here had any 1st hand experience of the three.
I think insurance companies are all pretty much the same these days.... it really just depends on who answeres the phone at the other end... and thats just luck....
also, I wouldent be suprised if most of the insurance companies use the same call centers (and staff) anyway....
Admiral & Elephant are the same company I think!
Ive always found that when using things like confused, I will get a price from them, then go to the insurers site and re-do the quote, and its always a little cheaper :D
Ive used both Elephant and Admiral.
Cant fault Admiral. Been with them for maybe 4 years now as theyve always been the cheapest for me. I also had my first "incident" 2 years ago now I think... A lady shunted the back of my micra in slow moving traffic, nothing major, but the rear frame was indented a little and the parking sensors were knocked in. Garages were quoting upwards of £800, I thought itd be cheap and she could just pay the £50 to push the sensor back in...
...anyway, ended up going insurance. Im fully comp and she admitted full responsibility. I phoned Admiral, got put through straight away to the claims, and they guided me through the process, which was surprisingly pain free. The only qualm was the Admiral favoured garage was in Soton which is like 45 mins away, rather than one in town. But I did get a hire car fully paid for, and the car they gave me was a brand new Mazda 3 TS, Worth about £15k. I fell in love with that car and was really surprised by how they gave the 22 year old male driver a brand new car worth 5x more than his car whilst his was in for repair for a traffic incident!
Im sure most other insurers are as helpful and friendly, but since then my insurance has been up for renewal twice and there have been options maybe £50 cheaper elsewhere, Ive stuck with admiral though as I feel paying a little extra is worth it, knowing the level of care you get when you need it!

I believe they are. My better half had a bump last year and apart from the initial claims that go in to the insurance companies everything else seems to be handled by third parties. The medical care, hire car, legal comings and goings and just about everything else after the accident was reported have all been done by various other firms working on behalf of the insurance company.
That said they were all very good at their job and the whole process was fairly hassle free so its obviously a system that works well.
The comparison sites are still £1000 more expensive for my Delica than Adrian Flux.
Although Flux are more expensive for the Honda than Churchill.
I think Bell insurance is an offshoot of Admirable, but is targetted as a cheaper option without the bells and whistles of totally comprehensive policies, might be worth having a look at.
Dont use Quinn direct! they have no solid system in use when you have to claim off them! someone drove into me in june and it was a giant farce. im still waiting to hear about the outcome
I used GoCompare.com, Esure always come out in the top price for me, been with them 2 years.
A brief breakdown of their service, prices through GoCompare are good, had one accident within 24 hours it was booked in and within 2 weeks it was fixed, no complaints.
Although, they did try it on for the renewal, told me they could not discount, same as every company, i simply cancelled the renewal and went through GoCompare again.
admiral & elephant are the same I think..
Im with admiral. To date they are the only ones I have ever stuck with for a renewal because the others were cheeky enough to ask for more money after earning another no years bonus.
They are generally easy enough to work with and do offer extra services on top that they think that might be usefull to you. They dont hassle you.
The main sales team is UK based, I think its the cancelations and claims that are offshore.
Went with Admiral in the end.
665 quid for a 2.0 TDI Golf (group 13) parking on the street in zone 2 London (with 6 years NCD).
OMG! Its pricy to insure a car in London :P
Tis about £300 on Admiral with 5 years ncb, 3 people fully comp business class 2. But then it is a 1.4l micra and driveway parking :D
