This happens to be within walking distance of me. it comes with enough toys to keep me happy, and is diesel so it will be vaguely more economical than the 28mpg i get from the nexia  And if it turns out to be the turbo model, it will be quick enough to keep me happy.
But, the mileage!! :o :o
What u all think?

tbh.
One generation newer, far more reliable, far better built than the 405 and a lot more comfortable.
And dont let the mileage on a PSA Diesel put you off - 300-500k miles is a walk in the park.
personally if you can afford to loose the money and its what you want then buy it. But I would consider BXGTi16Vs advice first, since he probably knows more about french cars.
Hard to beat a 1996/7/8 xantia TD for value for money - youll get aircon, comfy seats, possibly a cd changer (10 cd) all electric windows, rear view mirrors, rear blinds, split fold seats, big boot, front fogs, alarm/immobiliser, remote central locking, the best brakes you will ever try, and excellent ride comfort - all for well under Ã,£1000
And youll get 50mpg or so
and over 600 miles to a tank of diesel if you drive right.
