You need to watch the challenge again tbh, he was trying to drive himself forward not stand still.

Besides which, given the level of cheating from every other team in the competition I say good luck to the bloke. Especially if it helps slow the natural reproduction of a nation of cheating, greasy tards.

Quote from: Deaths HeadI thought he had a reasonably good match.  He had no choice but to send Rooney off in my opinion.  For the stamp or for the push.  You cant do that in Sepp Blatters Fifa now.

what ????  :disappointed: the fact that rooney was fouled 5 secs before the incident isnt obvious eh???

Brummie, I really wish you would read my posts.  This one specifically.  In the first paragraph I question why a freekick wasnt given to him because the two Portuguese players were all over him like a rash.  He was fouled by them but the freekick was not given and Rooney did what he did.

Rooney had to be sent off for stepping on Carvalho deliberately.  He had to be sent off for violent conduct against Ronaldo.  It was a small push but the way FIFA have the refs dishing out cards at the moment the only decision would be a red card.  Beckhams kick in France 98 wasnt vicious yet he got sent off.

blimey - rooney deserved a free kick before that incident even took place tbh.. ref was asleep - dont know what game some of you peps were watching but you need new glasses - certainly didnt appear to be deliberate stamping - the push on ronaldo was silly however though tbh.. ronaldo is rooneys team mate at Man U FFS & rooney appeared to be (rightly) telling him to stay out of it - still figo gets a yellow card for a headbutt in the holland game - rooney gets a red card for pusing his mate back  not exactly consistent - he deserved a yellow at best - though if the ref had been on the ball the incident wouldnt have happened anyway.

twas fecking stupid putting an argie ref in anyway - the team we were playing were basically a bunch of spaniards as are the argies + the argies have a bit of history with us anyway so hardly going to be an unbiased game - might as well get an american catholic from boston to ref next time we play Ireland at anything

oh good to see the opposition wasnt diving in anyway too - bunch of mincers the lot of em

Well I cant believe the FA paid Sven so much money, hes easily made Ã,£20m over the past 5 years with nothing to show. Hell probably be best remembered for the 5-1 Germany win and his fling with Ulrika.

Tuff luck, Swedens Ljungberg shouldve had a penalty just second before Lucic got his red card that he did not deserve.

But Rooney wouldve only gotten a yellow card if had shut his mouth and behaved.

brummie

Rooney did nowt wrong, he was fouled. Ref wasnt even gonna give anything till ronaldo come over and rooney pushed him.

Figo head butts some one he gets a yellow. Rooney pushes someone he gets a red. Whole insident doesnt even come close to any sweedish descision TBH

ronaldo deserves anything he gets on his return to manchester

Would very much surprise me if there was a return to Manchester for Ronaldo. Hell be in a Real shirt next season.
"Within your 'purview'? Where do you think you are, some f**king regency costume drama? This is a government department, not some f**king Jane f**king Austen novel!"

Deaths Head

Brummie, I thought the same until I saw the replay and watched his foot.  Unfortunately, he definitely did it deliberately :(

If you dont believe me, watch this.  Me moves his left foot backwards with intent.  The headbutt by Ronaldo, the Ref is right there with the ball.  How did he not see that?!?

brummie

did it or not the ref didnt see it and sent him off for pushing ronaldo.

Yet figo got a yellow for head butting another player. No way was it a red card and ronaldo deserves everything he gets on his return to england.
Its not the first time hes caused trouble either, he does it all the time.

Deaths Head

The ref never saw the Figo incident.  If he had then it would have been instant red.  He should have left it unpunished so Fifa could retro-actively give Figo a 4 match ban!

I dont understand your first sentence.  The ref only decided to brandish a card when he pushed Ronaldo, but its not been made clear what the card was actually given for.  It may have been the push or the stamp.

sven spoke to the ref after the match accordoing to his news conference. The ref said rooney hit ronaldo and deserved the red card.

It is possible that Ronaldo knew pretty much how to tuch a nerve in Rooney so he would make that misstake.

Rooney need to learn how to hold his temper, wasnt there a count somewhere of how many times he told a referee to fock off.

yeah that was quite a while ago though, he has improved alot since then.
i think he would less of a player if i didnt play with the passion he does, i also think he didnt know much about the stamp and should have got a free kick for being fouled before then anyway.
