QuoteThe main inspiration for this most arresting of automotive shapes was the F22 Raptor. Well, duh! Manfred Fitzgerald, Lamborghinis director of brand and design and the man whos carefully guided the companys resurgence over the past decade, was at a European NATO base with his design team.

"We had a good contact with the base manager (and) sat in Tornados and different aircraft to get some inspiration," Fitzgerald says. "We took these impressions of their world and came back here [to Lamborghinis Centro Stile design center]. Then we went, What is the most impressive aircraft to date? For us it was the F-22, the Raptor. It is an incredible piece of art as well. This sort of kicked it off. Everyone on the team had a go at it and we then selected one (proposal) from the competition."

Quick note for anyone not already aware who brings this car up in conversation - its pronounced Rebenton. Those wacky Italians.

BTW I was surprised this wasnt used in Dark Knight, I would have thought Brucie would have been all over this.

You can keep your lamborghini

Theyre just doing what aston martin do and rehash the same old tired designs over and over again

Give me one of these any day - far cheaper and I reckon it will whoop its ass

Id do anything for a new GT-R

At least I would for a v-spec, when they show up.

I reckon the v-spec would sit a few places higher on the top gear lap time board.

I reckon being able to say you drive a £800000 Lambo would open legs a lot easier than active yaw control on a Nissan though ;)

So, youre saying that you didnt say what version?
"Mark , you do realise the car you posted while nice is also a re-hash? lol"
Hmmm, lets see... what version did Mark post?  Oh, the R35...

BTW I did watch the top gear clip.  I had the sound off.  I dont care what they say its styled after (including the 20 million links on the previous page).. Its the F-117A in my eyes.

I think the R35GTR would have difficulty beeting this GTR:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=orQoTAZ2sM8

And you can get that car for £50K pre built also, I think its 42K with a small engine, spend a bit more and you have shed loads of power, but of course the R35 would most likely be quicker around the corners, but the Ulitima would be a good match I think.

The v-spec is due out in a few years

TBH, the R35 is a bit of a damp squib compared to the older versions

The older models were build to be tuned to 1000bhp. The R35 is kind of factory sealed if you know what I mean.

Id take a sorted R32 any day.

Its ridiculous the R35 only costs 30k in Japan
