Career suicide, who in their right mind leaves F1 for redneck touring cars (which go round and round and round and round)....
Madness and a waste....

No-one wants to sign him. Hes trying to save face by leaving rather than having his contract finish and not get signed to anyone else :D

No great loss, the sooner hes gone the better imo.
I said this on the forums a few years ago; the level of hype surrounding Montoya when he came into F1 was unprecedented and unjustified, now hes proved me right. :?
The person taking the biggest risk in F1 now is Alonso, going to McLaren....
Nascar is HUGE and its decades away from what it used to be: moonshiners racing their getaway cars on the weekend. It may very well bring in more revenue than F1. Its a very different driving sport than F1, its sort of like watching velodrome racing with cars. Its not my cuppa, mainly as the crowds are usually 80% Bush voting fundies and, but I appreciate the sport.
I prefer monster truck rallies. Ive seen Grave Digger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grave_Digger_%28truck%29) live. Take that, yall. 8)
I remember going to a big american 4x4 Monster truck event as a kid. It was great.
"Crashin an a crunchin all over those automobiles!" Say it in a thinck drawling accent and you have something that becomes quickly very annoying if its repeated at you 10 times per day my your mum :)
I agree with Max, its moved on a lot, the current cars are MEAN.
Maclaren have shown Montoya the door today so he can spend his time preparing for Nascar professionally...

I think he quite a loss tbh. He is one of these characters that actually help make F1 interesting & entertaining. He is is one of the better drivers and one of the best on his day, along with that ego and attitude of his makes him a very interesting character on and off the track.
Compared to some one like Ralf Schumacher.....

However he is not allowed to take part in any testing or races untill 2007 iirc when his McLaren driver contract will end.
They may very well still use him in some races later on, it is an option McLaren have.
