Title: MOT Day
Post by: soopahfly on March 19, 2010, 09:47:45 AM
Wish me luck guys, its MOT day.

To be fair, its a 16 year old car and all Ive had to do is replace the starter motor in the last year.

As a way of appeasing the MOT gods, have a tasty modified Soarer.

Is it even possible to fail the MOT over there

As much as you think our MOTs are a bit of a joke, theres plenty of garages that will invent problems too to make you fail + pay to have work done.

I think my micra failed its MOT when it was 5 or 6 years old, cant remember why though. Could have been brake pads, though I dont think I ever replaced my pads!

I thought I was late when I got there.  Appointment at 10:45, I got there at 11.

Turns out I was early.  By two months.

oh yes.  Me and one of the guys I work with go to the same garage, and they are STRICT.  I prefer to know when something is wrong that I might have missed.  He failed on a couple of minor points, I flew through with zero problems, but a few advisories.  Basically my car will do one more MOT before the rust eats out the rear footwell (Its solid now, but unlikely to be in another 2 years).  He failed in various little niggles that you wouldnt have even considered!  His car is an 06 plate Leon.  Ive got a W-Reg 2000 Vectra!

Thank god for my friendly MoT garage, please ignore the large amount of modifications and the engine drop...

What they said theyd done (before they spotted my blunder) was swap me and the guy before round.
He was early, got my slot and I got his 11:15 slot.
