Needs 2 new tyres, the correct badge on the front and a damn good clean.

Its the Toyota JZZ31 engine, which is a 3.0 Litre Inline 6.

Soarer.  In some countries it was marketed as a Lexus, but its a Toyota

My mate had one, with the V8.  Drank petrol    Is this the one you were on about getting for free? aint been on this forum for a while.

Yeah, this is the one.

Turns out it needed 4 new tyres, instead of 2.
My wallet is floating out of my pocket now :(

looks smart, does it go alright? same engine thats in the supra isnt it or is that just the twin turbo ones?

The twin turbo isnt the same as the supra mk IV either.

The TT soarer is a 2.5, Supra Mk IV (Same era) is a 3.0

W00t

When are we going for a spin?

It goes alright, needs a little tweaking.  There seems to be a big delay between putting your foot down and it going.
May have to invest in the future in the Getrag 6 speed auto box the supra runs.

Ben, depends what time you start work on Monday :D
As the DVLA will now have the form to swap over the car into my name, my insurance wont cover me.
I need to wait for the missus to get back from France in my van, then I can swap the insurance over and weigh in the tax.

The previous owner actually pointed out that the numbers on the plate were the date that me and the wife got married.

Thats true.

Keep the L badge man, I would. Its not like youve put a Ferrari body kit on an MR2. Or is it a Toyota on the V5?

It says Toyota on the V5.
Im torn between the big T, and the Griffon.

If I took the Lexus badge off, and the Soarer off the back, then not many people would know what I drive.

Just found out it needs its oil changing every 3000miles.

I best get familiar with how to do this task!

Cheeky cut and paste off another forum.....

Here she is, the second car in my fleet to have cost me £0 to buy.
Thats not to say its not needed a thing or two, but nothing out of the ordinary.

This is when I picked it up:

Guy who was looking after it says that it pulls to the left.  Got it home to find that it had developed a taste for the inside edges of the tyres.
Down to my local tyre place, and 4 new tyres later at a cost of £253 for the lot, and 4 wheel tracking £80.50 and its straight and true.
Looking at the print out they gave me, Im surprised it moved in the first place.

Needed to change some bulbs, de-tobacco the interior and clean the interior cabin filters which turned 3 buckets of clean water "Guinness Black"   The headlights were so yellow, you couldnt see through them.  A couple of passes with Meguires Scratch-X and then some Peek metal polish has made them almost new.  Going to strip them completely and then use some Lamin-X to give them their UV protection back.

Then Monday came.  MOT time.  I took it to a place in Sheffield called Dot Mot, and thats all they do.  Nice silver Viva parked outside, so definitely a win in my book.
Twiddling my thumbs for 30 minutes, results in a green slip.  No advisories. ;D

So, off to my mates house who fancies himself as a bit of a detailer.
Two washes later, two claybars, a run down with Autoglymm Super Resin Polish (Still bringing crapola off the paintwork) and a covering in Meguires NXT. we gets to this standard :

Which, to those who frequent detailing world, will know this sort of shot.

Hopefully, the DVLA will get their fingers out and send me a tax disc renewal form, as it runs out at the end of this month.  Got the new V5 last week so hopefully....

Its by no means perfect, and would benefit from some ££ being spent on it.

I know its due a Cambelt, but its a non interference engine.  Needs a service, passenger central locking looking at, and some tidying up.
