Title: Oooh - big ouch..
Post by: Bartop on October 15, 2007, 18:49:33 PM
One of the guys from the states off the Forester forums came off his bike the other day..I had no idea cycling could be so dangerous !

Quotethe cycling computer showed i was doing over 50 mph. i had no idea i was going that fast. new road with an awesome long downhill that went in to a tight turn. i didnt know the turn was so tight and misjudged it. realized i was in big trouble and tried to save it but did a body slide while on the bike in to a guard rail. i am super grateful to god that things were not much worse. i am actually doing pretty well after 4 days. healing fast. walked away from the accident. i had to walk a 1/2 mile to the main road to get help. should be riding again by tomorrow.

Pic - warning prob NWS and none too pretty

That doesnt look too bad. Okay more of his body is hurt, but to a visible lesser degree than when I removed all the skin on one side of my left forearm coming off at 25mph.

Bit of roadrash and brusing and thats it. Mine I was in bandages for over a month, and couldnt move for about 3 weeks of that.
