rofl max :D lol. I need a beefy rear light now :) the one I have is sufficient but Id love to get one that just plugs into me battery :)

And yes... I have spent Ã,£40ish previously on a SLA + bulbs + wiring + made up the lights... but never ever found a way to mount them :)

smart lights are cheap and cheerful.  Nice and bright too.
Just expect a headache with the amount of flex the bracket gets.  Not recomended if your epileptic.  The lights vibrate and wobble all over the shop.  Home make a stronger bracket and your laughing.

arent those lights a little over the top?

they look like night ride lights i.e. for riding off road at night, as opposed to commuter lights.

Look to be the business if youre regularly commuting on streets w/o lamps. I just use a white LED in the city, as I can already see well enough, and just need to be seen.

id only ever bother with LEDs or cheap halogen jobs...

that sort of kit is pointless for me...

its heavy, expensive and just adds weight to my bike and is asking to be jibbed by the local hoolies and general scum bags...

id get that sort of kit if i was doing adventure races/long rides out in ireland, but for everything else its a sledgehammer to crack a walnut.

2.4w spot, 10w flood.

Ã,£24.99 for the set.

My cheapie LED cost me Ã,£10 from chris evans cycles in cardiff, and my halogen light set cost me Ã,£15 from halfords. Ã,£25 = loads of light cheap! :)

Theyve arrived! :)

Fitted the pedals, and cleats to the shoes. The shoes are close fitting but I hear all shimano shoes are like that. I ordered 10.5 and they fit like size 10s.. which considering I have wideish feet is tight, but not completely unbareable.

Charging the lights, going to give them a shot tonight but I have my normal lights too as backup, dont want to risk riding in darkness without either, spesh as I havent been able to charge them fully just yet.

Getting the pedals off was fun, had to resort to asking a mate whos a hell of a lot stronger than me to come and have a go. Stupid threads stupid backwards left pedal. Still got them off, and got the new ones fitted.

Gave it a quick pedal up and down the street, works really well, havent really adjusted anything just at the moment, but will probably need it after I get used to them. Main thing is clipping in seems to be harder than clipping out, I keep putting the wrong part of my foot on the pedal. Still thatll be better with practice im sure.

Commuted to and from work last night. Was fun! :)

Found myself going faster in lower gears, strange... until I got spds gears ended to represent the miles per hour. I.E. 4th gear (middle chainring) would be about 14mph, 5th.. 15mph and so on, with spuds I was doing 18mph in 4th instead. Top speed of 22mph in 5th.

I found myself spinning out in the gears more which was kinda crazy!, acceleration off at the lights is great providing I clip in correctly at the start, else im left there wandering across a junction with one leg waving in the air, and the other doing all the pedalling, frantically mashing the pedals up and down to go somewhere.

All in all, im rather pleased I bought them! :) Theyre great!

Can certainly understand why snellers and funkychicken rate them highly! :)

Novelty factor maybe, but I really like them.

Shoes could have done with a size bigger, I bought 45s should have got 46s, but they are only "sorta uncomfortable" when walking, on the bike they feel snug but right.

Lights... they are amazing.

I could see for about 10foot in front of me, felt perfectly comfortable doing 20mph through an unlit section of road, didnt even realise that the ambient brightness had dropped until I looked over my shoulder to check for traffic and positioning.

Also due to a misaligned light on the right, I got flashed by a few drivers when sitting at a junction waiting to go. The 10w spot was aimed straight at the driver of a KA on the other side. Oops. (Adjusted it though :))
