Title: PGM-FI on Civic?
Post by: FuMaN on June 23, 2008, 19:59:13 PM
Just picked up my new Civic tonight and its already showing a Engine Control System PGM-FI warning. Its an 07 plate so its not brand new. Ive let the dealer know but anyone any experience of this?

difficult to guess without knowing what code it is throwing

Find out how to get it to flash the error code out on the light

probable things would be overenthusiatic washing of the engine (What sort of a retard washes engines anyway) or half assed servicing done by 17 year old fitters who dont know an exhaust valve from a piston.

Sadly its still showing this morning but its driving fine so Im not too worried, besides theres still 2 years left on the warranty.

Get a guide on how to get it to flash the codes so you can read what the code is - never a good idea to just plough on.

Could be doing all kinds of damage, do as Mark said and find how to get it to display the error code correctly and find out what it is ASAP!

Well the thing is it was serviced on the day I picked it up so is it possible that they triggered something and havent resent the warning light?

The light turned off when I left work last night and has now been off ever since. Perhaps you were right Mark about the cleaning especially as it was already serviced on that day.
