Quote from: BBCRichmond Council in Greater London is planning to make people pay much more for parking cars that use a lot of petrol.
Some people could end up paying Ã,£750 a year for residential parking. Tim Muffett reports.
Owners of big gas guzzlers could find their residents parking fee as much as triples while owners of electric and zero pollution cars may not pay at all.
Bet thats going to be a shock for people living there

Think its shocking to have to pay to park outside ones own property.
Jaimz
wondering why people pay road tax and tax on fuel when they also have to pay to park on the public roadway?
Its a case of supply and demand, if a lot of people drive into an area then they are going to be hit with parking charges/no parking areas or the roads clog up. The base idea is to provide parking for residents but prevent others from driving into the area, parking for the day and doing off.
In some areas of London the real estate value of the road a car is parked on can be worth more than the car, even if its a Roller.
i think raising the cost of stuff is all this country knows how to do, that seems to be their answer to every problem.
the earth is dieing, raise road tax
oil is running out, raise fuel tax
stop people from smoking, raise fag tax
stop people from drinking, raise drink tax
stop people from buying big cars, charge them to park it
