Title: Prelude 2.0 or 2.2
Post by: Bacon on April 07, 2009, 01:53:41 AM
Anyone got a link to the differences in these cars, to include performance and equipment

And which one is best to go for?

Oh, and were they produced for the UK market? I couldnt find a link to info on Parkers.

Heavily considering a Honda atm :P

Hasnt one got all wheel steering that is expensive to fix if it goes wrong, probably the 2.2 Im guessing.

I looked into getting one myself ages ago, nice looking cars

Yes it was made for the UK market, I had one for a couple of months, but it cost me FAR too much as a student to run.  I had the 2.2 and it was a rather impressive beast.

I had a BB4 UK model 2.3 a few years back it was a great car,  but id say go for the 2.2 vtec as its  got a bit more omph and parts are far easier to get for it.  the RWS controller is pricey if it goes wrong, but removing the fuse to reset it solved the only problem I had.

RWS is strange at first as the tyres I had when I first got it lead to under steer at the front that makes the back end come out a bit, but with better tyres corniring in towns was a doddle.

I would have bought another one but I didnt like the styling of the last shape

if you do go for a BB4 (the curvy one) I still have the workshop manual as a PDF  (39Mb ish) on gmail, I could mail over.

Id still say a 2.5TT Soarer, same engine as the Supra but at a fraction of the cost.

Its to big mate, the engine size. If i went for a prelude it would probably be a 2.0 although i can see that guzzling as much or more than my mondeo, the 2.2 is nice but £100 more year on fully comp to, and i bet it drinks when you boot it.

Damn i hate buying cars, im trying to stick around the 1.8 to max 2.0 litre mark if possible, 1.6 would be all the better but its finding a motor thats easily powered by a 1.6 lump and still can fit andre the giant behind the wheel, any smaller and im having issues, after sitting in a KA the other day and driving it around i felt like a Sardine xD

if not a lude then what about an Alfa 156/159 there 1.8 and 2.0 looks fairly nippy on paper at about 8 sec to 60 IIRC, and very nice leather inside
