Ive only got 1 key for my Mk2 Punto (05 plate) and Im sure the other day it beeped about 5 or 6 times after locking the car. Someone mentioned it might be a low battery warning and that if the battery dies itll lose the settings for my car. Anyone know how you replace the battery without losing those settings or how much it costs to buy a second key? I should probably have a spare anyway!!
change the battery in the key - changed battery in a similar aged fiats key recently and it didnt lose anything

Brilliant cheers.
just in case you do lose anything i would unlock the car first and then lock it by putting the key in the door, as using the plipper activates the alarm usually.
Ive had the problem of my unlock button coming off the PCB and unable to open it manually without the alarm going off
