Binary Shadow

id still rather have a range rover over a renault anything

Not very shocking. A ton of people over here bought SUVs for "safety" even though none were safer than a proper minivan. In fact, they were much more likely to roll over and kill the occupants. Indeed, not only are they not safe, their design makes everybody else on the road less safe due to their mass and bumper design.

Foolhardy and selfish vehicle choice except for the farmer, and person traveling in the bush.

dont know if youve got them over there, or if they use a difference name, but the "Renault Espace" is claimed to be the safest car there is, full stop.

kinda changes the prespective on the test tbh.

My dads mate was paralized whilst driving his land rover. A escort i think it was went into the side of him at a set of traffic light and flipped his over.
The other guy apparently walked away with relatively minor injuries.

5t gear:
i saw this on the telly the other night. Didnt surprise me TBH as the land rover isnt in reality a modern design and shouldnt be compared to the latest safest option. Also the 4x4 isnt really designed for everyday usage like the espace.

While i agree the espace proved better there lets see who win if the lived in a snowy or wet place and needed to get out

redneck

if i lived in the sticks a disco would be the car of choice imho

Didnt the jaguar with the wierd bonnet thing score really high on that?

Where the bonnet would raise to meet the person as they hit it, and would cushion their blow.

Mark

aye - the c6 has the active bonnet too - been on it since the prototype way back

Is it  afair test that that used one of the old Range Rovers against the current Espace model?  Though even it was a modern disco Im sure the Espace would still win.

Not at all suprising. :)

Pete

You still gotta give the Rennie credit for standing up to a ding like that.

Id take the rr over the espace though.
I know sh*ts bad right now with all that starving bullsh*t and the dust storms and we are running out of french fries and burrito coverings.

Beaker

if i was buying a 4x4 i wouldnt have any of the fancy ones.  a Defender 110 please, with extra mud  8)

I wouldnt have an full sized MPV either, horrible things.
