Oh well at least you will get your money back to go and buy another fun car! Perhaps one that doesn't use so much juice this time. :P

PS. Don't bother looking for an LPG'd Supra, there is currently only one i can find for sale :D

Terrible shame, I do like those Audi's, mine was lovely to drive. :(

On a more positive note though, if you want a Skoda that runs a treat on veg oil, I'm selling  :D

I hope your going to buy it back at a fraction of the price and scrap it, you could make a fair bit of cash back, is the engine still running as you could sell that with the LPG system for a conversion!

I would go so far as to say you might recuperate all your loss on the car

The main thing is, you're alright though?!

I guess it means no budget for new camera gear any time soon too :S

On a side note I do think the rule that if you hit them in the back its basically your fault. It is DAFT!
You can be totally following the rules, good brakes, car etc and someone dumb in front of you just does something totally unexpected. Heck, F1 these happen and most of the time its classed as just a racing incident.

you should allways leave a gap big enough to stop if something completely unexpected happens. I know we dont allways but in the rules of the road there is no excuse for rear ending someone.

True and I do, but I mean, I had one car turn into the road in front of me being in the wrong, I had to bake to avoid them, did so, they picked moved off and I was still rolling of course still and then suddenly braked hard again and spun round. I had to brake hard again and move left a bit too. They just had no clue of anything around them but if Clipped them in the back I would be in the wrong.

I suspect if I brake tested a 40 ton lorry and got rear ended there may be some dispute over whos fault it was as well.. im not sure its always so clear cut

I know that its there as trying to sort out dispute, especially if there if there is no eye witness's around would be time consuming and more costly through the whole processes so a base rule resolves a load of those issues but it still sucks. I bet a lot of cases these days of people like us were giving the gap and at the speed limit but the people at the front doing it just at those daft movements.
Motoway, changing lanes your supposed to shoulder check to make sure your not bashing over a biker in your blind spot etc. The person randomly brakes hard because they dropped the hambuger they are eating (this sounds daft but I know similar true stories) and dumb ass brakes - You look and you got no time to brake properly.

I always wondered whether "A cat / bird flew out in front of me" would be sufficient to get off if you broke suddenly when being tailgated.
