Title: small update - loom and inlet manifold on
Post by: Mark on December 28, 2008, 22:58:21 PM
Not a huge lot more done today - put the inlet manifold on and also put the wiring loom on - going to put the engine back in the car this Wednesday after I set the suspension ride height to a more appropriate level

Loom on

Since Im waiting on a 60mm flange for the wastegate to arrive before I can finish fabbing up the manifold, I set the headlights on the BX in preparation for its MOT. Handy wee unit this.

Mark, Its cool what you doing, you seem quite close to getting it all going.

Question - Could you not have one thread about your car?

looking good.

nice bit of kit that headlight aim thing, better than using a wall with some measurements drawn on like i do.

Just would be easier to track your progress

did you consider a new air inlet manifold ?

that one doesnt look too great for giving even flow to all the cylinders etc...  you see how much trouble people go to with exhausts... I thought the inlet manifold would be just as important ?

(Im pretty sure youre a mile ahead of me here.... but Im still curious!)

Nexus could you not have one thread in waffle with all the sh*tty links you post?!

Coming along nicely Mark. Thread of mine disappeared but that knocking/grinding noise on my Yaris turned out to be the differential in the gearbox apparently..

That manifold favours flow to the middle two cylinders - therefore you need to trim the fuel up to the middle two cylinders.

Im probably going to cut it and weld the throttle body to the side however.

I prefer Marks posts about new developments being in a new thread.  Makes it easier to keep track of his progress rather than getting lost in a 50+ page thread.

Yes and when hes done he could just create a thread with links in to all the old threads for easy referencing.
