Beware lorries reversing at high speed ;) I know Ive been backed into twice by vans etc., ignoring any horns being blown at them.

Goblin

Crappy Corvettes. bet it wouldnt have happened in a Volvo.
It's all fun and games until a 200' robot dinosaur shows up and trashes Neo-Tokyo... Again.

Mark

Youd have gotten killed quicker in a volvo since its higher with a shorter bonnet so prob for the best :)

I reversed our lorry over a clio once and didnt even feel it

knighty

^^ rofl

I watched my brother reverse his lorry over a lampost once, but thats about it (idiot thought i was beeping my horn for a joke?)

anyway, its not the speed that kills you, its the stopping ;)

p.s. nige has a clio, go get em ! ;) ;)

Personally i think it gets the message across fairly well, i bet the driver barely saw it coming.

I agree with that ;)

Quote from: Binary Shadowi still wonder if he had time to think anything between when/if he saw it and when he lost his head... thats terrible i know.
Probably had instant KO on impact so he wouldnt have felt much.

Says who?

For all you know he could have had a blonde in the passenger seat helping him to heaven with a hummer.

That would also explain only one head splat.

I do, you can tell by the way its shoved right under the truck by the speed of impact, he was *really* overdoing it. Had he been going slower then the damage wouldnt be half as bad.

Ptobably a winker too and on his own which would also explain the single splat.

My point was, he could still have been a total muppet regardless of what speed he was doing.

At high speed you only have to be distracted for a split second - the speed he was doing was not the factor resulting in his death. You can drive fast and not automatically slam into lorries.

Thrawn

On the plus side for the driver - which way would you like to go into heaven? Shuffling and decepit with your drip on a trolley, or backwards at 200mph in a koenigsegg?    (That was on top gear right?)

dogbert

People put too much faith in AIR-BAGS.
You can see the airbag in the picture, its done its job, it deployed on impact. But that wont stop a speeding car obliterating itself against 30 tons steel !

Though you are much less likely to do that at 30mph than 100+ which it looks like he was doing.

It was the main contributor though and the faster you go the less time you have to react. There may have been no way to avoid the impact (due to oil or water on the road for instance) but the damage is purely caused by the excessive impact speed. No matter its definitely going to be put on the report as driver error. Had he been going slower he might have survived it.

A well earned Darwin award but I feel for any relatives he left behind.

Further evidence - look between the cones on the ground...the black tire marks.

There maybe a traffic jam or other obstacle which caused the lorry driver to break quickly...the car driver probably couldnt break in time (speed) or wasnt paying attention.

For the millionth time folks:

I break your neck
you brake the car.

Nah dont agree, distracted for a split second at 30mph how far have you gone, how big a bump can you have? now at 130? yeah you move that much faster, have that less space to slow down and hit that much harder

No way a truck that size will outbrake a vette lol

our motorways are covered in black marks from tyres, that coulda been from anything

I hope to gawd he wasnt getting a BJ from the passenger when this happened. Its bad enough having a c**k in your mouth, but its totally like gross and stuff when that persons neck is severed and like bleeding (and stuff). :gag:
