WOW, what a race.
GO GO Button, Solid through out.
Well done to Hamilton, That is some good points for a crap car and what not.
Kers Works then.
Didnt see the race, but great results all round - Team Brawn, Hamilton going from 18th to 3rd and Buemi getting a point.
I bet Honda feel a bit dumb now :mutley:

superglued in place.
Only just recovered - how freaking amazing was that? Thought Button drove a solid race and Hamilton was quite frankly fantastic. THe new rules have certainly made for an exciting competition - I can see why they made the changes to be fair.

Kers will be a good thing but it really is just a temporary thing. Yes overall funding will be cut but the top teams will re-establish themselves and at some point in time everything will be back to square one when people get to grips with the new rules etc. May be next season when it happens but there are clever people making F1 cars so any rule change will soon get sorted by the boffins that make the cars.
KERS was only offered so that F1 is seen to be contributing to the development of green systems that could one day be used in road cars. Itll have its moment then disappear Im sure - I dont see it lasting. Branson looks set to take over Brawn and label it Virgin F1 which Im all for. Huge for the team and huge for F1 too. We know Buttons a good enough driver to be champion and with Branson cash behind him hell get a great opportunity to do so.
The top teams Im not so sure about. The history of F1 has shown that the teams classed as top teams always changes and that will always be the case. It wasnt that long ago that Williams and Renault were untouchable and I can easily remember when Ferrari were absolutely sh*te. Add to that the fact that they are trying to enforce a budget cap next year of about 1/4 of what the big teams currently spend and I think theyll have a much tougher time fighting off the smaller teams. Well see a lot more drivers moving teams I think because theyre going to become a much more valuable commodity, as I personally think Lewis proved yesterday.
A budget cap would certainly make it far more difficult for the big teams to buy their way to the top via technology.
I tink green systems are going to stay put, they dont want to be seen too environmentally unfriendly. Chances are some will try other fuels.

Top Teams have always been the ones with money, even with budget caps that will remain but also the teams with the biggest engine backing tend to be up there. Brawn having a Merc Engine for example has meant they have shot up the ladder. Of course there are all the other factors but that will be a major aspect of it.
Williams were working with BMW with a new engine after quite a few years of engine changes and issues after their top team status which dropped them back. They started to build up again and BMW went solo and set them back again.
The politics of car mechanics and who has what has always been interesting and will always be a part of F1 and who does well and one of the unique aspects of the sport I think should not change.
F1 Is as much about the team around the track and back at the HQs who develop the car to win. If a car is fast because the car is fast and the driver has a good time in it then that is great, the people who built it deserve that credit. That is why the points system matters for me, consistent racing is as important as winning races. (Take Days of Thunder for example, lol or Topgun mind since that is basically the same movie)
Button people tend not to rate and say he is overated but the ones that rate him. I have always liked him and felt bad for him for years. Missed opportunity and bad cars and bad reliability. He has a very smooth driving style which helps him on many tracks and in the race and a plus with the new cars. He can not drive aggressive when he needs to though, he can take it up a gear when under pressure but agaisnt aggressive drivers he does struggle and back at the pack for the last few seasons that has shown through.
Haminton is just an amazing driver, his race was nothing short of stunning. With a car that was probably 0.3 seconds a lap slower then most cars and 0.5+ vs the top cars in the race he drove very well. Yep he had some luck and you need it in F1 but he drove like a champ. He is a lot like shuey with his aggressive driving style but he also knows how to float the car around the track too.
5Th for Hamilton, hes so skilled, hell start getting pole soon, he did say ill do a lot better mid season.
I hope Ferrari do win in court, that prick Max needs telling hes to powerful hes ruined F1.
Hmm see if we can reignite this thread.
Looks like its going to be one hell of a good end to the season one way or the other. Seems like Red Bull are out of it now so its between Rubens and Jenson. 14 points between the two and 4 races to go - so Rubens needs Jenson to have at least one DNF in my opinion as I cant seem him scoring 3.5 more points than him every race. Rubes is definitely on form but there wasnt really anything between them in Italy they were practically identical the whole weekend it just dropped slightly in Rubens favour this time.
If RB does win it I will be really happy for him he does deserve a champtionship and hes a great guy - but if Im honest Ill cry for weeks for Jenson! Ive followed the guy for over 10 years through all sorts of sh*t, realistically never believing he would get a championship winning car. Jenson taking it this year would mean a hell of a lot after all this time and I honestly dont think anyone has worked harder and put up with as much sh*t for such an extended period as he has. Fingers crossed he keeps his cool, brings it home every race, and wins it comfortably.
COME ON JENSON!! :ptu:
You seen the new teams for 2010. Bigger grid, Lotus, American Team trying to do F1....
Interesting Season next year as well by the looks of things.
Yeah next season has a lot of promise but they really need to get this 14 team agreement through to allow BMW/Sauber in. It would have been better if all the new teams hadnt been forced to use Cosworth engines too but you cant have everything. Heres to Anthony Davidson getting a Lotus drive
obviously Abu Dhabi paid Bernie millions, whod have a race in a country where drinking is banned, is it fizzy water as champagne.

ROSEWATER :mutley: :mutley: :mutley: :mutley:
the Germans lost Hockenheim to him obviously 5 million wasnt enough. we going to loose the British GP because of him.

Weve had races using Rosewater for the last 5 years in Bahrain - thats nothing new. I dont see what it matters - I watch for the 2+ hours of racing not the 5 seconds of champers spraying....
I dont think well lose the British GP - I could be wrong but my gut says not. Bernies playing hardball to maximise revenue - I dont like it but its a business - the shareholders wouldnt accept anything less.
Personally I think Brundle had it spot on - what well see happen is Bernie draw it out as long as possible (unless the BRDC sign the new contract) then offer a reduced price late on IF the other teams agree to 19 races next year. Most of the teams would agree to save the British GP so it would result in an extra race worths revenue to Bernie. Frankly it works for me - more races the better :w00t:
If we were to lose the British GP though that would be awful. I agree with Eddie Jordan that theres 4/5 races that should be protected for their legacy.
Anyone see the launch of the new Mclaren mp4-25 yesterday? IT looks amazing - really good looking car. A lot nicer than the Ferrari F10. Which is faster remians to be seen although there are persistant rumours in the Italian media that inside the Ferrari ranks theres a general belief that the F10 is lacking pace.

Bar Last year because they built that basically in a couple of months as they were focusing on winning the world championship and ballsed that up Mclaren in recent years have always built the sexiest f1 car in my opinion. They some how manage to make it work well and just look really good at the same time.
Ferrari do not do well with their fuel tanks. In The past they have used more fuel stops or the standard 2 and used their pit skills and Ross Brawns genius tactics to come out ahead. In the past when you had shuey who could turn out those fast laps before coming in with a very quick car when it is light you had a winning team. With no re-fuelling I can see why they would struggle, it is something they would need to get used to. Mclarren should be better on that front.
The mp4-25 I have to say that rear vent channel is striking.
Thought Id update :
I AM LOVING THIS SEASON!
End of update 8-)
