That's all...

Awesome cheers for the heads up.
I dont understand why it isnt advertised more, I watch bbc channels for a couple of hours most nights and havent seen anything.
Totally agree, I'd never have known if not for your post, cheers for the heads up
I didn't see any adverts either, my house mate just said I think it's back on, and a quick google later!
The whole reason you pa a TV license is so you aren't bombarded with adverts on the Beeb.
Was alright, reasonably mediocre episode tbh. New Stig is clearly Tiff.
Jaimz
Cracking episode apart from the bizarrely pointless film about the VW and 911 that didn't seem to go anywhere, do anything or reach any conclusions (be they serious or comedic).
The Yeti sketch was hilarious.
I wasn't all that excited about the episode, but i do have the urge to go out and buy a Yeti! :muttley:
After putting up this reminder, and someone on here sending me a Play TV reminder on the PS, I still forgot about it! Caught it on iPlayer though and agree it wasn't that good even the yeti part...
And I wish Hamster would stop bleating on about 911s, it's kind of getting boring now, you kind of get the idea that they are running out of ideas! The only decent ones now seem to be the big races, the cars bought on a budget challenge things and the big adventures like the Polar one.. All the other stuff is just a filler, and a little worried that it's getting near the end of top gear, and maybe they will only do specials
richard hammond needs to sort the hair and necklace out
better still, leave the show!
So obvious Tiff is the new stig.
Also, the atom is sh*t fast but it looks SO sh*t.
PlayTV was me :D
Cheers, forgot who sent it :)
Never sent one before, wondered what it did :D

if it's going that fast at the time though, does it really matter what it looks like?
I enjoyed the show, but agree Hammond should stop doing features on the 911 at the slightest excuse. It's his favourite car, we get it.
I fear they are pouring so much of a finite budget into the special/adventure episodes that there really isn't much left for the other ones. Also the specials are having to one-up themselves every time, meaning eventually either the Beeb will say "no, that's rediculous/too risky/going to bring the corporation into disrepute" or they'll actually get one of them killed. I like the build challenges best of all anyway, like the camper vans last series or the amphibious vehicles further back. After all, how hard can it be?
XJ220 Transit!
I really need to goto Goodwood this year!
I laughed when I saw it's wheels. I knew what it was packing.
Meh. It's kinda tedious now.
The transit was awesome, they shoulda made a whole show around that. The pickup was cool as hell too. This is the problem with normal top gear episodes - they put 3 twats in awesome cars and it ends up gay.
SIARPC is still crap.
The aussie thing was embarrassing, it was fixed so they lost but they still end up looking a million times better than we did. Cheating should happen on both sides tbh.
The mexican stuff made me cringe - I'm not hyper-pc or anything but it's like that bit of the script was wrote in the 70s somewhere in Alabama.

I agree, I'd have rigged it so it was anyones game going into the last race and then made it a "battle of the stigs", with our guys claiming it was James and theirs saying it was whichever of them should have been driving.
I enjoyed the episode in general but it would have been better if the whole ashes thing had been like the first race, ie the aussies go "we've got the maloo, so we'll say comercial vehicles and they'll be stuffed" and the brits produce a transit with an XJ220 engine. I thought that one was pretty fair and very funny, esp Hammonds "well you might have warned ME!"
That last episode really was dumbed down/aimed at kids, agree with the comments above, most of it was embarrasing ???
I can't watch it live now, have to watch it recorded so I can fast forward past star in a reasonably priced car, I also ended up fast forwarding past the majority of the two cars welded together challenge which was pretty cringe :gag:
It still has its good bits though, the GTO article was interesting :) and the van was a bit blatant, the obvious gauges on the dash was what gave it away to me, can't say I spotted the wheels
In it's usual guise.
They should have left it like this tbh.

That was the best episode for years imo!
I really wasn't enthused by that that one at all as none of it served any purpose with cars you can't buy, etc, except for the main segment on the Merc and Rolls which while interesting didn't really keep me overly entertained until the final chase; which was just as pointless as the rest but was at least exciting. Probably the weakest one so far for me.
Thought it was the best episode of the season so far. Very entertaining.
1st time I have ever enjoyed SIARPC :ptu:

The new Top Gear India Special is on tonight on BBC2 at 8:00pm until 9:30pm
New series trailer. :yarr:
It's probably have one of the most exciting I've seen to date out of recent series.
I know everyone moans about its not the same any more, etc but TG is still better than 95% of the drivel on TV that calls itself entertainment. I'll be tuning in, hopefully these challenges will be as exciting as they look!

Great episode, a good return to form I reckon. I do love that Aventador Wub
New episode tonight
QuoteSeason 18 Episode 3 of 7
Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond take charge of shooting a car chase for a remake of The Sweeney, assisting with the stunt-driving choreography and the direction of lead actors Ray Winstone and Plan B. James May takes the Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring for a run around the test track, and delivers his verdict on the updated Fiat Panda. Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car
This series is a significant improvement IMO, usually I FFWD past star in a reasonably priced car, I haven't done so this series.
Ryan Reynolds or whatever his name is' comment about his flaw being 'I can't stop murdering children' was cutting unexpected and very funny 8)

I actually laughed quite a lot through this episode, shame about the film stuff, as I found that pretty boring and predictable, the rest was good though!
It was the worst of the series so far but they had set the bar high so far, I still enjoyed it though and had plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Yeah the film bit was a low-point for sure :-X
Had it turned on but it didn't grab me at all so wasted the hour browsing ebay.

I watched this a little earlier, despite enjoying the ep overall as I just said to knighty on MSN it seems they are turning Hammond into an idiotic and cringeworthy charicature that can't be taken seriously, moreso than any of the others playing up themselves.
What Clarkson did with the filming was quite good overall despite the stupid bit about disabling the traction control, but then as soon as Hammond started on his bit you knew it was just going to turn silly and be pointless; its too predictable. This kind of staged stuff is definitely the worst they do.

"we're currently due to return to BBC Two at 8pm on January 27! And guess what? You're getting the long-awaited Christmas Special thrown into this series, too, which is inexplicably scheduled for transmission in, erm, early 2013..."
;D Well, even if there is still more silliness its still one of the better things that will be on TV to watch. Roll on the Christmas special!
Anyone know why the Xmas special was not shown at Xmas?
Did they push it back because of the Bond Special they also did?
