Title: w00t, new cheap headlight!
Post by: maximusotter on December 17, 2006, 23:00:18 PM
I have strayed from Cateye for the first time in years. It was like Sophies choice  I  tells  ya. The REI had half a dozen in my range, soooo hard to choose.  :P Ended up with a Sigma TriSport LED. No mounting bracket, bright  as hell, and 120 hours steady on a set of batteries. I got mine  for  9GBP, youll likely pay double over there. Perfect little urban light. recommended, esp if you need to  use  it  on more than one bike.

No reason to piss away money on a heavy, expensive, and cumbersome set for city riding. Any number of LEDs do the job much more handily. Replace batteries twice yearly, two second mounting. It cracks me up when I see guys riding with bottle cage battery stuff around here, as its just a matter of being seen. If youre really worried, get two front LEDs and some reflective stickers for your rims.

PSHT... wouldnt replace my Ã,£25 set of 10w/2.5w combo light set with anything like a tiny LED thing, unless it was a dinotte.

I love having the ability to see where im going, granted streetlights take care of it most of the time, but there are tiny bits of road that are not very well lit due to tree coverage or similar, and it works brilliantly.

Definately worth it. Bit of a chunky battery though :D
