Title: Well impressed with..
Post by: Binary Shadow on April 13, 2007, 10:37:06 AM
The local land rover dealer, they just had my car in for a free.. yes free health check (its only visual i know) but even so they had the car for just under an hour and checked the diff and transfer box levels for me as well.. for nothing.. spot on i say! And its not like its a new car either (95 P38).

Got a list of things to fix/replace now tho :( bummer.

Conversely I spent £160 on labour at the Madza Stealership having the electric window fixed and the wiring changed on the rear high level brake light :(

bummer..

looks like i need to fix the wipers all round (split blades and siezed arms)
sort out the fog light full of water
replaced the HT leads
fix the leaking rocker cover
oh and replace a bulb

that leaves a slight leak from sump, PAS and transfer box (i hear they allll leak)
and "dirty" brake fluid that needs changing.. damn thats annoying

In an effort to not be outdone ;)

Looking at dropping out the 1108cc engine and gearbox and replace it with a 1242 from a punto.

The central locking also needs sorting out (luckly i have a daddy to do that  :whoops:) and the alternator may need looking at as i have trouble starting it up most of the time. No, the Cinquecento only has a dinky engine bay.  An Uno/Punto Turbo lump would fit with work, but I havent got the time/skill/money

cool i bet that pulls like a train.
i was just wondering as i noticed the diesels came with fuel burning heaters, and i am looking at fitting one to my car just wondering what make they used in the landys.

id have no idea on the heater but can tell you that when you kick the auto box down the V8 noise and pull is incredible
