Title: Wireing In: Oil Temp Sensor, Revmeter

How in basic terms do I wire these in?

For the Oil Temp Sensor I guess its just getting a feed from the sensors allready installed...

Tho for a Revmeter do I have to wire it in through the Gear Box?

revs are done off the coil usually and if you have an oil temp sensor already ill be surprised

yeah i thought the temp sensor would be linked up to the radiator thermostat rather than one in the sump, could be wrong though  :D

aye revs are from the generator / coil normally as it generates electrical impulses from the spining crank.

yeah the rev counterfeds from the coil the side the wire from the condenser goes to. (1 discharge of the condenser = 1 rev).

For the oil temperature sender... You should be so lucky! :lol:


The usual way is to get an aftermarket sender that screws into the sump, in place of the sump plug.

are these to drive aftermarket gauges, or standard ones?

Id personally lean towards getting a set of guages off a better model, and wiring those in - in a lot of cases the wiring is already there and its a straight swap as far as rev counters are concerned, and looks a lot better than having a couple of pods sitting on the dash.

My Mk1 R5 received a set of clocks from a Gordini, and the rev counter worked straight off! :D
