Well I turned my 360 on the other day and 3 flashing lights on the front = hardware failure.
Just got off the phone with support and they asked me to chuck the console and power block inot a plain box and it will be collected and I will be sent a new one.
Not bad support, just a shame i actually had to use it
Gutted :(
lol check my 360 Voice... how wrong it is!
One thing m8e.
A bloke I worked with had the same problem and was told the same thing. He sent his console and power supply back, 4 days later his console returned WITHOUT a power supply!
He had to wait further 8 days for the PSU !!
If I was you, Id stick some sort of note in there stating that the box contains both the console and PSU. Hopefully thatll help avoid the same situation !
That 360 Voice is poo ;)
I playing WC06, CoD2 and PGR3 last night until about 00:30 this morning. Yet 360 Voice claims I didnt play at all yesterday or today !
Mine does that every so often. Meh. Its just a quirk to play with :)
lol
If you do get a new one you will get the one with the improved power supply and the one witht he different model fans, something else they changed in the current batch, forgot though.
Oh and to anyone with problem dont EVER e-mail them... heres what I got..
QuoteI am getting "Three red lights flash on the Ring of Light" as explained on Article 907534 *http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534/en-us* I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting all cables & HDD. Powersupply is showing green and nothing is being displayed on the TV.
Console was purchased on day of release here in the UK *2nd December?* and was acting strange last night after patching off LIVE and trying to watch a DVD.
Leon
and heres the reply i got...
QuoteThank you for your email Leon. For information about how to resolve this issue, please refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534/ (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907534/). If you continue to see three red flashing lights after following the previous instructions, please contact the Xbox 360 Customer Support team on http://www.xbox.com/support/contact/ (http://www.xbox.com/support/contact/)
As you can see, in that reply they have told me to go to the article I already said I looked at and then pointed me to the support page I used to e-mail them in the first place!
ive xtremed mine so it best not die
Dont put any note on the outside of the box. It will go missing.
And that email will be a standard response. "3 flashing lights, that reply, sent, next email". :-/
Especially if it was an indian contact centre (Most likely) - they get paid per contact and their quality as such is a lot lower than contact centres in europe (Which are also a lot more expensive)
The economics of the situation unfortunately still favour these types of contacts being offshored (Although a lot of MSN support is provided in europe - a lot by us)
