I dont know what it is about 3Dmark, or maybe its because I buy cheaper midrange parts, but it usually takes me about four years after a version of 3Dmark gets released to be able to run it properly :)

Me too, although this time Im running 3Dmark05 adequately now.
I only just got 06 running :)

3d Mark is as much for people developing graphics cards as it is for end users. Youre not really expected to be able to run them properly as a consumer. Chips have about a 2 year lead time and 3 year from specs so youre always going to be 2 years behind the curve as its usually testing things that arent implemented yet in public cards.
