The good bit and more new then the rest of this news is

QuoteThe proposals also suggest schools and libraries should be given greater flexibility in how they use copyrighted material like CDs and DVDs, and suggests parodies of songs and films could be made exempt from copyright law.

The consultation follows the Gowers Review of Intellectual Property, which recommended that aspects of the intellectual property system should be reformed.

Which is cool
Still funny that it is illegal to rip your discs still, when you just think out load and say it

I agree with Bear, copying for your own use (that is, not distributing to others) is one of those things that is technically illegal but extremely unlikely to be prosecuted. Theres just no way the record industry could word that lawsuit which doesnt flat out say "Hello, were a bunch of money grabbing bar stewards out to take you for all you have"

The othe rbit I think will cover if you use a bit of music for a wedding video or school thing etc, remember that women who download nursery rhymes for something and not the original songs for background music, I think it will be allowed with a crap load of restrictions mind of course which is fine.
