I am crap at making video discs of Movies and tv shows to play
Question is will it in future you think with firmware updates play other video formats?
How hard is it to take divx and xvid stuff to code to the video formats this can use?
Will divx do a deal at some point maybe?

£199.00 Worth it?

For me I could do with something like this watch on the big tvs at some point we will get a hd massive lcd in the front room or when we move to NZ

So is this thing any good and worth it?

Its certainly an interesting product.  First of I have no firm opinion of yet.  I like what it is offering for the all in one price.  I have seen many different product for example streaming your music wirelessly to your stereo.

The people I cant see it apealing to are those quite simply who are against apple or dont have a seperate tv system that they would to access movie/music from their home network.

Cool, I wont get it right the way but I think I will be picking up one at some point
Seems fairly easy to mod

Either via mod or software update by apple it should play more video formats
which will be great.

I can see by those links that there will be custom interfaces and more in not to long

That was fast. :o

AppleTV Running Regular OS X 10.4.8 (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1840427990015549546) (I wonder if bootcamp works too?)

Does anyone know if any kind of media centre/MythTV type software exists for OS X? If so Im buying one. :)

Edit: AppleTV running WoW at about 20fps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKQdxqu4iSY) 8), and this was before the full hack linked above...
