I dont play games often, and dont get the time for more than an hour here or half an hour there, and Ive just finished Bioshock there (About 2 months after everyone else!) Multiplayer does not appeal to me one bit.
Have to say, its the best FPS Ive ever played, and I include thief in that (Although its more of a first person sneaker)
I think its better than HL1 or 2 and certainly miles ahead of gow and halo 1/2/3.
I harvested some of the sisters the next time Im going to free them all.
The end boss was a bit of a wuss I thought - maybe a bit too easy (I always play on normal because I dont think playing on hard makes a game a game - it makes it not enjoyable, more of a chore than entertainment. I want to be able to use plasmids and weapons liberally, not have to scrounge for ammo or eve constantly)
Want to see your ingame screenshots please, this is one game on my list :P
I wouldnt rate it against Half Life tbh.
Before slating it, it is one of the games of years but when you strip it back it really is just system shock reimagined. Which leaves you expecting more.
My biggest problem with was the endless hallways of revival tubes which slowly took away the initial fear of the Big Daddies into something you can play around with at your own leisure.
i found it pretty boring too, lather rinse repeat kinda deal, i think i got pretty near the end but just couldnt be arsed
I havent got too far through it but Ive really enjoyed it so far. I can imagine its a bit repetitive after a while...
its more like system shock 2 if anything, there isnt a great deal of similarity to the 1994 game.
Its better than half life for me as youre not stuck with normal weapons, and it was more fun - the very crux of a game.
In half life, as in nearly all FPSs you can save and reload at any point - I dont see the difference. The vita chambers lend themselves toward a sequel though (no spoliers!)
Plus it has a better story rather than the run of the mill aliens taking over the world
Apart from the chemical gun and Adam, I cant believe your rating it as "more fun" over Half Life as an episode or series tbh.
It doesnt add up for me.
Its well extreemly written, very pretty, and despite an ycriticism one the best games of the year, but I was expecting so much more. Its rather straight forward.
