Title: Bloody hell.
Post by: M3ta7h3ad on January 09, 2007, 09:18:02 AM
Deadline for coursework to be in today.

Ive done it... but Windows XP doesnt want to work today, its having an off day, its poor poor head is hurting so its putting its feet up and having a nap when it comes to the welcome screen.

Basically in safemode or normal boot mode the same thing happens. XP Boots... gets all the way to the "welcome screen" then refuses to load any user accounts, I cant even see them listed. all I see is a "windows xp" logo on the right hand side, and it just stays there.

Any ideas??

Id say thats a sensible idea but im using linux on the computer with no issue.

Also... it gets past the HAL check just fails to load the user accounts up, its like it has nothing to show me. :|

I havent installed anything extra hardware wise and I cleared the cmos this morning.

Mount harddrive in linux and extract relevant files, and wander down to the comp lab or whatever?

if all else fails then a USB Caddy might be an option

Other than that all i can think of is running an auto-repair from the XP disk.

kiss almost all your settings goodbye, however you shouldnt lose your files. I would be more inclined to grab a HDD Caddy and head into Uni to print the files out.
