Title: boot cd.

hi all i want to format my hard drive and reinstall xp onto a laptop.


how do i go about doing this, also i want to install ubuntu again as i have the time to fiddle.

Boot from the xp disk and use it to wipe the hard disk and install.

Then boot the ubuntu cd to resize partitions, install and you should be done.

Normally that works but there have been instances of XP not offering to format. If that happens look up the Ultimate boot disk or, if you dont mind some warez, Hirens boot disk. You can boot, partition and format from either.

Ubuntu should do the partitioning bit for you though when you install that.
