Title: Broadband noise
Post by: neXus on November 24, 2006, 18:05:48 PM
Whats a good range for your Line Attenuation?

My up:55.6dB
Down: 31.5 dB
I know this is very high since my upgrade and 3.5mb and becuase my router is some way via a normal phone cable from the main box.
I know idealy it should be right next to it and network cable up to switch.
Could you give me good numbers, saturday I will plug it in next to it and run a power cable to it to see what noise I get. Wanted to know values to look out for.
Problem is that there is now power socket there yet and I need to justifiy the time needed for my dad to put one in there.

For adsl max the SNR (DS Margin) is the limit, once it goes below 6dB thats as fast as youre getting.
